Pressure washing vs soft washing a driveway
The difference between pressure washing and soft washing for Irish driveways and patios, and which one suits block paving, concrete and sandstone.

Pressure washing
A high-pressure jet or rotary surface cleaner lifts dirt, moss and weeds out of hard surfaces. It suits concrete, block paving and most tarmac.
After washing block paving, the joints usually need re-sanding to keep the blocks firm.
Soft washing
Soft washing uses low pressure with a cleaning solution that kills algae and lichen at the root. It suits softer stone such as sandstone and older render, where high pressure can damage the surface.
Which one do you need?
Most Dublin driveways are block paving or concrete and do well with a pressure wash. Sandstone patios are often better with a gentler approach. We'll look at the surface and tell you before we start.
